reflection on rwandan genocide

http://www.ppu.org.uk/genocide/g_rwanda2.html

i found this genocide quite unfortunate for the Rwandans. i personally think neither hutus nor tutsis were the cause of the genocide, but the belgians who intervened between the relationship of those two. before the europeans arrived to Rwanda, both hutus and tutsis were in fairly good relationship. however, when belgians interrupted and gave higher titles to tutsis, the tutsis began to think highly of themselves and look down upon the hutus. since the belgians interfered, the seed of hatred toward tutsis start to grow inside the hutus' hearts. later, the belgians left without thinking of the consequences, and that was what caused the hutus, the majority, to start taking revenge on the tutsis.
however, i found it unfortunate that this kinds of european or american intervention has caused many, many conflicts inside weaker countries. many african countries still have civil war or ethnic conflicts inside their countries, including zimbabwe and congo DR.
